How to Disable Recycle Bin in Windows 10

By default, whenever you delete a file/folder in Windows, those files will move to the Recycle Bin. To delete those files permanently you have to empty the Recycle Bin by right clicking on “Recycle Bin” and then “Empty Recycle Bin” and then ‘Yes’ to confirm.

If you want to delete the files permanently without moving to Recycle Bin, you can turn off or disable Recycle Bin in Windows.

Steps to Disable Recycle Bin :

Step 1: Right click on the “Recycle Bin” icon on the desktop and then click on “Properties”.

Step 2: In Properties, under ‘Settings for selected location’ select radio button labelled “Don’t move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted”.

Step 3: Click on “Apply” that’s it.

From now, when you delete any files on the drive, it shows “Are you sure you want to permanently delete this file” dialog box instead of “Are you sure you want to move this file to Recycle Bin”.

To Re-enable the Recycle Bin

• Right click on “Recycle Bin”.
• Click on “Properties” and select radio button labelled “Custom size” and then apply.

Note: If you have multi drives in your PC, you should follow this method for every drive.
